The Science & Technology Group are currently looking to recruit an innovative and pro-active senior/managing consultant with experience in the medical device sector. The company has a number of large projects in the pipe line and are keen recruit qualified candidates with appropriate experience and skills.
You would be expected to become involved in a range of projects . Your focus would be on working on project assignments in the medical product and healthcare and consumer sectors .For this opportunity you need to be a good team player and must be able to demonstrate good project management and delivery, first-rate prioritising and enthusiasm for helping identify new propositions and clients, growing this market sector, leading projects and programmes, providing technical direction and solving problems
The Consultant will be:
• Capable of working with business development team members supporting sales initiatives, putting together service propositions
• Capable of working as a project manager and/or tech specialist on projects
• Capable of eliciting client needs and requirements, translating them into technical solutions
• Excellent client interfacing skills
• Willing to travel to client meetings and workshops in both Europe and the US
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Relevant background, for example: Biomedical or medical engineering; or Electronics/Physics Degree with post graduate degree in medical engineering.
• A Electronics/Physics Degree with post graduate degree in medical engineering. A Masters of a PhD would be great but not essential
Essential Experience and Skills
• Team leading, project management or technical lead role experience
• Experience in a medical device sector organisation, for example: Various applications of optics and lasers in medicine, blood flow devices, diabetes care devices, biomechanical monitoring, sensing, NMR, MRI, etc.
• Working in medical or surgical sector of technical consulting/management consulting organisation
• Background in technology assessments in the medical device arena, identification of unmet needs and innovation
• Technical feasibility of new concepts, disruptive technologies, etc in medical device sector
• Due diligence of start-up or early stage medical device companies
• Innovation or IP programs to generate novel concepts
• Familiar with initial user research in the clinical or surgical environment, prior to the commencement of formal product development
• Medical instrument development

This will be a demanding role that would suit someone who enjoys variety, the ability to apply their skills in new and different areas and capable of “learning on the job”.
It is hoped that candidates have a flexible and adaptable approach to work. This role would suit someone with an enquiring mind willing to learn more about how projects are operated and delivered.
